Good afternoon, Sound of Art! TODAY ONLY, funders pledging $50 or above will receive the signed limited-edition poster pictured above from the hit film 8 BIT: A Documentary about Art and Videogames. The work is generously donated by Marcin Ramocki, whose work from 8-bit is also sampled on The Sound of Art. Your contribution will not only land you one of only 500 prints in circulation along with the gifts for your donation level, but will push us one step closer to our campaign goal of $10,000!
Speaking of the campaign, we’re doing really well on this front. In fact, as I wrote this post, I pulled a muscle in my bicep after raising my arms above my head at the news of pushing past the 25% funded mark! It turns out that this percentage is the magic number over at Kickstarter. Co-founder Yancey Strickler noted last week on Rocketboom that campaigns that raise 25% percent of their target goal meet their target 90% of the time. With your help, and more frequent trips to the gym, I anticipate safely celebrating the realization of this goal.
Those still wondering what exactly will be on the record should check out the constantly updated Kickstarter blog. We’ve already featured artists such as Joe McKay and Laura Parnes, and released the complete liner notes today! Later I will make an homage page for Marcin Ramocki for donating such a fantastic limited edition poster to the project!
