Call for Applications: Art Fag City Editorial Intern

Are you a masters student in art history overwhelmed by the quantity of your own opinions? Perhaps you’re journalism student, with burning desire to report on the news. Either way, have I got a job for you!

Art Fag City seeks editorial interns for the winter semester.

Ideal candidates have a strong interest in visual art and digital media, are proficient in MS Office and HTML, and possess excellent writing and editing skills. Applicants should also be extremely organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented. Knowledge of Facebook, Delicious, Flickr, and Twitter is preferred.

Interns will work directly with AFC Editor-in-Chief Paddy Johnson to support all aspects of running an art blog, from content management to fundraising efforts. The position offers valuable hands-on experience in the fast-growing world of digital media, and in-depth insight into a prestigious online publication. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend private tours and panel discussions as well as write original content for the blog.

Duties include:

-Copy editing posts and columns

-Managing ongoing series

-Managing the AFC flickr account

-Project-based research

Applicants should expect to make a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week, although some work can be done remotely. Candidates who have or are working towards a degree in journalism are preferred. Those working towards an Masters in Art History are also encouraged to apply as are individuals with coding skillz. This position is unpaid.
