Sean Capone takes the lead mid way through AFC's Bill n'Me Meme
A few reminders about upcoming deadlines at AFC and beyond:
Today is your last chance to submit a photoshopped and memed image drawn from Jerry Saltz’ profile picture. Do this for a chance to win a ticket to tomorrow night’s “Feast for the Apocalypse” at Allegra LaViola Gallery. Our Bill ‘n’ Me contest closes at Midnight tonight, and winners will be announced tomorrow at noon. The competition so far? Sean fucking Capone people. He’s got 46 facebook likes on his own page and 31 comments and who knows how many other likes elsewhere. Capone is currently outmatching Jerry Saltz who’s mobile phone upload “Me and Snow Clinton”, is ripe for entry, but NOT YET SUBMITTED.
Art Club starts next Tuesday with Seth Price’s show at Friedrich Petzel. Bone up on his work. We’ve got a lot of Internet ripe videos in a gallery to discuss!
EFA will host The Artist Welcoming Committee’s first “Welcome to NY” party in conjunction with their exhibition, “I Like The Art World and The Art World Likes Me” February 24th, but first they must find people to welcome. If you’re a promising artist who just moved to the big apple, submit your work for future lauding! The deets:
To be considered please submit 5 jpg images of recent work, a short artist statement, and a paragraph or two letting us know a bit about you — why you decided to move to NYC, what your plans are, and why we should choose you to be honored. We more interested in seeing your shining personality and creative potential than hearing a laundry list of past accomplishments. The deadline for submissions is: February 6th, 2011.
To be eligible to apply you must have relocated to New York City in the last 3 months or are planning to relocate here in time for the event. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply, but students currently enrolled are not eligible.
