WTF is up with Bushwick? “Confronting Bushwick: A Discussion on the Nature and Future of the Bushwick Art Scene”, attempts to answer this question by assembling a team of experts and throwing them in a room with Hyperallergic’s Hrag Vartanian. A Bushwick expert amongst Bushwick experts, Vartanian will lead the panel in exploring the buzz surrounding the neighborhood and what defines the ethos of this particular scene.
Guests panelists include Deborah Brown, artist and owner of StoreFrontBushwick gallery, Thomas Burr Dodd, owner of Brooklyn Fireproof, culture writer Carolina A. Miranda of C-Monster fame, and Marco Antonini, the gallery director of Nurture Art.
The event takes place tonight at Bogart Salon. Doors open at 6pm and the panel kicks off from 7pm — 9pm.
The Bogart Salon is located at 56 Bogart Street (Bushwick, Brooklyn), across from the Morgan stop on the L train. To RSVP for this event email bogartsalon@gmail.com.

Perhaps the panel can begin by discussing the fact that a coversation about Bushwick is not taking place in Bushwick.
Or perhaps the fact that the future of a neighborhood is being discussed by transplants…
