Must-read? Molly Crabapple is so naive/insipid it hurts. If a “dissident” had support of her/his local geographic community then they wouldn’t be a fucking DISSIDENT. Holy crap, statements of the obvious. BTW, has the great feminist crusader weighed in on that James Franco LiLo slutshaming shitshow at VICE yet?

What did you think of the article? I thought she was doing more there than parsing the meaning of dissident—which seems to be what you’re saying.

The article should be filed under “aw shucks”. Honestly shocked that Vanity Fair would publish that shit. Like I said, statements of the obvious to anyone who has ever paid ANY attention to the subject of political prisoners/dissidents. I am really glad Molly decided to tune a couple years ago, but jeez. Must read? Please.

Can you identify a couple of specific passages you take issue with and explain what you take issue with? I don’t yet have a clear idea what the problem is – this just sounds like a generalized complaint about Molly Crabapple.
