Net artists, your pot of gold has arrived. Rhizome, along with China’s Tsinghua University Art and Science Media Laboratory and CCIA Center for Art and Technology, just announced the Prix Net Art, a $10,000 award for artists who make browser-based work. (Postinternet-only artists need not apply.) A runner-up will be granted $5,000. Best of all, there’s no strings attached with this award—winners will be chosen on the quality of past work, and that’s it.
But who will win? It’s actually up to you. Prix Net Art is seeking nominations for artists through August 31, 2014. Anyone can apply, and artists can nominate themselves, too. So if you know of a deserving net artist, nominate them here. We sure do, and we plan on nominating a handful of them.
