Take The Artist Cost of Living Survey And Make A Case For Financial Need

Who wants a grant to make art for a year? If this sounds at all appealing to you, why not take a survey? Blade of Grass is a new family foundation providing grants, loans investments and other resources, but they need to establish the financial need of their demographic. If you’re an artist, this is exactly the kind of grant you need. Take a couple of minutes and fill this form out. You’ll be glad you did when you or a friend you know receives enough money to work on their art full time for the next 12 months.

Won’t this just give people the incentive to claim artificially low incomes in an attempt the direct the grants to themselves or their friends? Support yourselves people.

@Brett, I welcomed the chance to gripe about the situation I find myself in as an artist. I answered truthfully. I do support myself. I’m also in debt, largely due to the fact that I chose
to be an artist. It’s an expensive proposition these days….. Plus, it’s a questionnaire, not an application. They are trying to find out how artists are getting by, how they get it together to provide for themselves, and pay for a studio and materials and surprise exhibition expenses, and find time to make the work. I thought it was a worthy effort on their part. Sometimes all it takes is a little time or seed money you ain’t got, to make a difference.
