Today we announce the launch of Art F City’s 10th Anniversary Benefit Auction, which runs on Paddle8 through April 13. The money raised will be used to support art writers, independent art criticism, and ambitious artist commissions. This auction makes possible all our artist essays, in-depth interviews and reviews, and daily news coverage. This is flagship AFC content, and it’s the best art writing you’ll find anywhere on the web.
The work in this auction reflects the discernment we bring to the blog. We carefully selected works by artists we believe to be trailblazers—we’ve also solicited work from a handful of artists we’ve dubbed “Power Women.” These are artists like Judith Braun, Marilyn Minter, Zoe Crosher, Michelle Grabner, Inka Essenhigh, and so many more who are continually making valuable, insightful contributions to the world around them.
We’ve added our own special contribution to the auction, too, our 10th Anniversary GIF and Print Portfolio. Inspired by this year’s “Power Woman” guest of honor, Laurie Anderson, the limited-edition portfolio of prints and GIFs includes work by Morehshin Allahyari, Jennifer Chan, Faith Holland, Sara Ludy, Claudia Maté, Rosa Menkman, Lorna Mills, Eva Papamargariti, Angela Washko, and Giselle Zatonyl.
